Resourcefulness

In continuing to look at equitable opportunities for learners and educators, I have wondered if blaming a lack of resources is too materialistic. Having resources does not create resilience, perseverance, or even good ideas. Resources can create opportunities, but only if the right person is behind those opportunities. So, maybe we need to consider what elements create a resourceful person.

If educators are given more time, opportunities might arise from their expertise. If more opportunities are created from their expertise, maybe more time will be found.

This is all theoretical, of course.

Questions to Consider

  1. If learners and educators were given more resources, such as time, would this help create resourcefulness?
  2. Are these two items of the same family?
  3. What helps people who lack resources become so resourceful?
  4. How can we help cultivate and nurture a culture of resourcefulness?
